Fort Worth Mayor Showcases City’s Economic Momentum in NYSE Interview

Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker told NYSE TV the city offers major corporate ties, strong infrastructure, vast talent, and livability, driving economic growth and business attraction.

Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker speaks with NYSE about the city’s growth and economic development

In a recent appearance on NYSE TV Live, Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker highlighted the city’s rapid growth, strong business ties, and commitment to quality of life, positioning Fort Worth as a rising economic powerhouse.

Mayor Parker noted that Texas leads the nation in New York Stock Exchange–listed companies, with 232 headquartered across the state, and emphasized Fort Worth’s role in that success. The city boasts connections to major NYSE-listed firms including Embraer, JP Morgan, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, the latter making a significant investment in Fort Worth in the past two years.

Parker underscored Fort Worth’s strategic advantages: as part of North Texas, soon to be the nation’s third-largest metro area, it’s anchored by world-class transportation infrastructure such as Alliance Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the third busiest in the world. Within 40 minutes of downtown, companies can access a workforce of 2.5 million across key industries.

Adding to this momentum in North Texas, the New York Stock Exchange announced in early 2025 that it will relocate its Chicago-based operations to Dallas under the new name NYSE Texas, a move underscoring the state’s growing influence in capital markets. The launch of NYSE Texas further cements North Texas as a financial hub, complementing Fort Worth’s strengths and reinforcing the region’s position as a bridge between global investment and local opportunity.

The mayor also spotlighted Good Nature, an initiative launched in 2023 to preserve 2,000 acres of green space over five years, balancing rapid development with long-term livability and environmental sustainability. This approach, she said, not only enhances residents’ quality of life but also strengthens Fort Worth’s appeal for business investment.

Parker reaffirmed her focus on fundamentals, public safety, infrastructure, and clean, well-maintained neighborhoods, paired with a pro-business mindset. “It’s about building consensus and focusing on what matters,” she said.
