France-based Fonroche Lighting—an international leader in solar-powered lighting solutions—has cut the ribbon on its new U.S. headquarters in Fort Worth.
Located within the Campus Industrial Park at 2224 SE Loop 820, the 20,088-SF space was designed and built by Fort Worth-based Empire Holdings. Wednesday’s ribbon-cutting was attended by representatives from the city of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, and executives from both Fonroche Lighting and Empire Holdings.
A leader in autonomous solar streetlights
Founded in 2011 in Agen, France, Fonroche is a global leader in autonomous solar streetlights, “with a presence in more than 50 countries across five continents,” the company said.
Fonroche expanded to the U.S. in 2019, siting its first U.S. headquarters in Boston, along with satellite offices in Boise, Orlando, and Phoenix. In 2023, the company relocated its headquarters from Boston to Fort Worth “following a thorough evaluation of potential locations nationwide,” and consolidated all its U.S. operations in the Panther City. The company said that after outgrowing its original Fort Worth home, it worked with Empire Holdings to design and develop its new HQ within Empire’s 12.14-acre master-planned Campus Industrial Park in southeast Fort Worth.
Lauding Fort Worth’s ‘unmatched logistical resources’
“Our new U.S. headquarters represents more than just office and warehouse space—it signals our company’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market and vision of reshaping urban infrastructure with renewable energy solutions,” Hocine Benaoum, head of Fonroche Lighting USA, said in a statement.
“Our presence in Fort Worth also reinforces the city’s appeal to international companies seeking a central location for national operations,” Benaoum added. “We’re certain that Fort Worth’s unmatched logistical resources and supportive business climate will be the keys to our continued growth and goal to become the nation’s leader in solar-powered lighting solutions.”
Company’s solar streetlights are in 43 U.S. states
Fonroche’s rapid growth in the U.S. has seen its solar-powered streetlights installed in more than 1,000 municipalities across 43 states, the company said.
Calling itself “a disruptor to the traditional streetlighting industry,” the company said its innovative, solar-powered lighting solutions “eliminate the need for grid connections, offering significant cost savings, zero energy consumption, and drastically lower carbon emissions compared to traditional streetlights.”
“Designed for longevity, these systems are virtually maintenance-free, providing reliable, sustainable lighting even in remote locations where grid infrastructure is unavailable or expensive to install,” the company added.
Bowie Holland, president of Empire Holdings, called Fonroche’s presence at Campus Industrial Park “a testament to what we strive to achieve in all of our developments—pairing cutting-edge technologies with exceptional design to create facilities that inspire innovation and drive growth.”
