Fort Worth, Texas (Feb. 12, 2026) – Weir, a global mining technology business, announced today it plans to expand the premises of its Minerals Division headquarters in downtown Fort Worth, retaining 67 jobs.
The headquarters expansion includes additional square footage and a $3.4 million investment at 777 Main Street to drive employee experience, create space for potential workforce growth, and support the company’s ability to host global executives and clients. The project, expected to start the second half of this year, is anticipated to support downtown hotels through an estimated 260 hotel nights per year associated with corporate travel.
“We are pleased to expand the location of our Minerals Division headquarters in the heart of downtown Fort Worth,” said Phil Carey, Vice President of Finance for Weir’s Minerals Division. “Fort Worth has proven to be a dynamic and welcoming home for our business and our people. This investment reflects our confidence in the city, our commitment to our employees, and our excitement about continuing to grow alongside the community.”
As the office real estate market continues to fluctuate across the country, this expansion represents a strategic opportunity to make improvements to one of Fort Worth’s most iconic downtown office towers, which were originally constructed in 1982.
“Our partnership with Weir highlights Fort Worth’s proactive and strategic approach to economic development,” said Mayor Mattie Parker. “This agreement will retain quality jobs and create further investment in our city – specifically downtown – for years to come, and I’m grateful to the teams at the City of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership for their leadership in moving this forward.”
“The expansion of Weir’s downtown divisional headquarters is the latest sign that the Fort Worth business community continues to thrive,” said Robert Allen, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership. “This announcement not only keeps jobs in the downtown area, it also has positive economic impact on nearby hotels and restaurants. It’s further proof that when it comes to business expansion and recruitment, Fort Worth has a culture that gets it done.” Weir is a global mining technology leader focused on delivering innovative solutions that help miners move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely and create less waste, accelerating the path to smart, efficient, and sustainable mining.
